The Village Sport store first opened its doors way back in 1980. Originally it was part of a joint retail outlet with Balmain Disposals, right in the heart of 'Tiger' territory. The two stores quickly became an institution in the area, before the camping store finally closed its doors in 1992. Three months later, The Village Sport was purchased by brothers Robert & Brian Melkie and remained at 252 Darling Street until mid August 2000. Due to the growth in the Balmain-Rozelle district, it became obvious that the area could accommodate a much larger sports store, hence the big decision was made to expand and increase the variety of sporting goods on offer. On 6th August 2000 we made our big move - The Village Sport is now located at 247 Darling Street, Balmain in a shop three times larger than its previous size.

The Village Sport is now a major player in the local sporting industry. We stock major brands such as ASICS, NIKE, ADIDAS, BROOKS, SPEEDO, BONDS, SLAZENGER, SKINS, BRASILIFT and many more. The new establishment has enabled our customers to purchase their sporting goods locally and receive products at very competitive prices. The range of children's clothing, footwear, tennis, golf, cricket, soccer, football and other accessories, has increased dramatically as sport has now become a focal point in the peninsula's leisure activities.

The Village Sport has also played an active role in aiding the local community - supporting surrounding schools and sporting clubs. Wherever possible we will continue to do so. We are proud to be a sponsor of the Balmain Junior Soccer Club and have been for some time, offering discounts on all soccer equipment for the children involved.

Delivery Fees
Rates of $7.95 for purchases under $50.00 and $10.95 for purchases over $50.00 will be charged for all orders placed online for delivery within Australia through Australia Post.  Rates for Registered Post via Australia Post are $10.95 for purchases under $50.00 and $14.95 for purchases over $50.00.  Please note registered post requires a signature on delivery.

Please allow 3-10 business days for delivery except WA residents please allow up to 15 business days with Australia Post.

Refunds & Returns
If you are not happy with your product that was purchased online for any reason, The Village Sport will be happy to exchange it or provide you with a credit on your customer account, providing the product is returned to us in its original condition, undamaged and unopened. The customer will pay all freight charges.

If goods are faulty, wrongly described or different from a sample shown, you may choose between a refund, exchange or a credit.

Defective items must be returned within fourteen (14) days of the purchase date to be eligible for replacement. Items will be replaced with the same item originally purchased.  For items that cannot be replaced, a full refund will be offered.

Product Availability
If an item is out of stock or delayed, The Village Sport will inform customers within two (2) working days about your order status.

Footwear
Please note when ordering footwear that all the sizes listed are in US sizes and all prices
are in Australian Dollars. All prices are GST inclusive.

Swimwear 
Due to health and hygienic reasons, swimwear cannot be exchanged or returned, however, you may be entitled to an exchange, refund or credit note where goods are faulty.Sale Items 
All sale items purchased are final and no exchanges, credit notes or refunds will be made except in the case of faulty items.
