Sterling Jewellers is a family -owned and -run business passionately working away in the inner western Sydney suburb of Leichhardt.

Our family has a history in jewellery retail that dates back to horses and carts in the late 1880's. Today we are a team of 8 who together have the skills and experience of 100 years in the industry.

We offer a mix of niche and mainstream collections. In addition to a broad range of diamond, gold and silver jewellery.. we stock the brands you know - Pandora, Thomas Sabo, Hot Diamonds and Georgini  as well as an exclusive selection of internationally-sourced, genuine antique and estate pieces.

And by the way, just to make sure we know the ins and outs of what we sell, we've completed trade qualifications with the Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) and are members of the Jewellers Association of Australia (JAA) and Australian Retailers Association (ARA).

Regarding our reputation, it's quite simple; we're only as good as the quality of our products and service - which is why our loyal base of customers is even more valuable than our finest antiques!

Having over 4,500 products in our Leichhardt store makes it difficult to offer each one to you online. Our Guarantee

 

All of the products we stock come with a manufacturer's warranty, and are guaranteed against any manufacturing faults or defects. If you receive an item that you believe to be faulty, please email us the receipt number together with the product number and description of the problem within 7 days. We will then arrange for the item to be sent to the manufacturer for assessment & the final decision lies with the manufacturer. Please note that the nature of jewellery is to 'wear and tear' which is not covered by any manufacturer warranty. Any items returned that are not covered by warranty may be subject to repair and / or shipping charges. We will inform you of these charges before going ahead with any repairs.

 

Each of the brands we carry has their own guarantee as explained below:

 

Thomas Sabo

 

All Thomas Sabo products come with a 12 month guarantee against defects in manufacture or materials.

 

Charms and jewellery will not be replaced for general wear and tear or improper handling such as:-

  • Damage to the surface of the metal including but not limited to scratching, rub marks, tarnishing or pitting,
  • Damage or wear to set or strung stones including scuffing, cracks and abrasion
  • Loss of charms
  • Damage to the enamel surface which causes discoloration or 'lifting' of the enamel
  • Broken or snapped cords or chain links
  • Loosened knots from elasticised bracelets and necklaces
  • Hand-strung necklaces will require occasional re-stringing over time. This remains the responsibility of the consumer.
  • Improper cleaning of products eg; factory oxidized items incorrectly 'dipped' or 'cleaned'

Georgini

Georgini guarantees full warranty covering manufacturing and material defects for products purchased from authorised Georgini retailers. The warranty only covers damages that are not caused by accidents, inappropriate use or wear and tear. Depending on the degree of damage to the warranted product, the feasibility and the availability of replacement parts, it will either be repaired or replaced by a piece of the same value. This warranty service is free of charge. The warranty is valid for a period of one year, from the date of purchase.

 

Hot Diamonds:

Hot Diamonds jewellery has a two year guarantee from the date of purchase against any manufacturing failure. Should your piece of jewellery require service during the warranty period it will be repaired or replaced with a comparable product free of charge. This warranty does not apply to any defect in the goods arising from fair wear and tear, willful or accidental damage, negligence by you or any third party, use otherwise than as recommended by the supplier, failure to follow the supplier's instructions, or any alteration or repair carried out without the supplier's approval.

 

Second hand and antique items:

They were loved once, now they will be loved again

Sterling Jewellers Leichhardt Pty Ltd is a licensed second hand items dealer, license number 2PS0336501.

CAVEAT EMPTOR (buyer beware) We guarantee the authenticity of all our pre-owned items. Due to the nature of these products, we have no control over the manufacturing methods - many of which are over 100 years old. Whilst all care has been taken in assuring that these items are in a satisfactory condition, they have been used and enjoyed by others and we cannot be responsible for any loss of stones, flaws in metal or damaged settings. If you are unsatisfied with the condition of a purchased item, you may return it to us for a full refund within 7 days of receiving it, assuming it has not been worn or altered in any way.

No stones are removed from their settings and therefore all stone weights and measurements are approximate. Item descriptions and dates are also approximate.

 

FAQ's/Customer Service

 

How long will my order take to be delivered?

  • Most items are delivered to any Australian address within 2-6 working days through Australia post.
  • If an item is out of stock we will notify you (usually within 24 hours) and arrange for an alternative item or a refund.

 

How do I know what size my finger is?

  • See our fitting guide section below for details on how to measure your finger

 

What if I ordered the wrong size?

  • If you ordered the wrong size, simply email us on sterlingjewellers@westnet.com.au to arrange an exchange.
  • Not all sizes are available from certain manufacturers. If your required size is not available from the manufacturer, we may be able to resize the ring for you in certain cases (charges apply). We will contact you to let you know if this option is available.

 

I bought the wrong item / changed my mind. What can I do about it?

  • We understand that sometimes people make mistakes. Please email your receipt number and product code to sterlingjewellers@westnet.com.au to arrange for the item to be returned. Please note: items on sale may not be exchanged for incorrect choice.
  • The item must be returned to us within 7 days of you receiving it, accompanied with ALL original packaging. It will be your responsibility to ensure the item is safely returned to us, we recommend using registered post.
  • You may exchange the item for another item of equal or higher value.

Fitting Guide(s)

 

Finding the perfect ring size may be tricky as fingers can change with the weather, from pregnancy and time of day.

 

The easiest way to find your finger size is to have it measured at jewellery store. Try pay attention to the width of the ring you try on as we may need to adjust the size depending on the ring you buy. As a general rule, add half a size for every additional 2mm wider the required ring is to the one you've tried on.

 

Another way is the following:

  1. Find a piece of string or strip of paper no wider than 1.5cm.
  2. Wrap it around the base of the appropriate finger.
  3. Use a pen to mark the point on the string/paper where it overlaps, forming a complete circle.
  4. With a ruler, measure the length from the starting end of the string/paper to the pen mark.
  5. Use this measurement chart to determine your ring size.

Please note not all sizes may be available as some manufacturers only manufacture certain sizes. Where possible we may be able to resize a ring for your finger size (there may be a small fee).

 

If the ring ordered is not the correct size you may exchange it for once another size, however shipping charges may apply.
